What a joyful and exciting 2 months it has been! As you can see from our Facebook page and website, we have been to 27 counties so far and we are looking forwarding to visiting all 64 in the coming weeks. We have received compliments for being the most organized State Treasurer campaign, with the strongest event presence, most effective materials, and a dominant web and social media presence. Thank you for making that possible!
As you know, our first weeks of the campaign were focused on GETTING OUT THERE. Being the current District Attorney for Northwest Colorado, I needed to introduce myself to the other three corners of our state, and I was able to share why I am the most qualified candidate to be the next State Treasurer -- I am a 4th generation Coloradan with over 30 years of public service, including 8 years in the U.S. Treasury Department and 25 years in the Marine Corps.
What a real pleasure it has been to travel across the state that has been my family's home since the 1860s. The biggest hit on the campaign trail has been our "Treasury Balms" - chapsticks my Mom made for the campaign in my favorite flavor, "Grass Root Beer." Come to an event and pick up a stick! Always check our events calendar upcoming events.
The most joyful and rewarding part of the campaign so far has been making new friends - from Craig to Sedgwick, and from Springfield to Cortez. It has been a privilege and honor to share with so many Coloradans my recommendations for solving Colorado's $50 billion public pension liability (PERA) and the inequitable property tax system that is financially crushing rural counties and school districts. In so many gatherings, I have been able to relay my commitment to speaking and seeking the truth; my respect for all Americans, our history, and our institutions; and my soul-deep dedication to selflessly serving our state and its citizens. More than 8,000 people have watched our video sharing why, as an Iraq veteran, I am so committed to public service.
With our initial introductions and first of many laps around the state complete, this next phase of the campaign must focus on fundraising. While more and more Republicans use email and social media, many prefer receiving information by U.S. Mail. As you know, direct mail campaigns are expensive. With your help, we need to raise $50,000 this quarter to be able to introduce my campaign by mail and follow up with all prospective delegates and alternates (some 10,000 Republicans) to the party's state assembly next spring.
Your immediate donation of $100, $50, or $25 can help us pay for the design, production, mailing, and followup with the list of expected delegates and alternates. With your help, we intend to start this phase of the campaign by Thanksgiving.
I am so flattered and grateful for your support in our campaign so far. Together, we have built an impressive foundation - a foundation that, with your help, will rocket us into our next direct-mail campaign phase. It is your help - your donation today - that will make this possible. Please donate now!
Yours in gratitude and service,
